How to: Pages, News Posts
Each Center is responsible for keeping its Center’s content up to date on the Portal via the WordPress interface.
Login Information
- Log into WordPress at http://www.systemscenters.org/wordpress/wp-login.php
- Your userid is your first initial followed by your last name, for example, John Doe is jdoe. If you have forgotten your password click “Lost your password?” under the login box.
Pages – adding/editing content
- Log into WordPress at http://www.systemscenters.org/wordpress/wp-login.php
- Click “Pages” on the left hand side menu
- Click the page you want to edit
- Add or edit content
- Content is listed in alphabetical order by Center name
- To add a soft return (without an empty line above) hold down the shift key and return key together
- To add an image. Click the “Add an image” rectangular gray icon. The icon is to the right of “Upload/Insert” above the editing tool bar. Browse to the file you want to upload and click “Upload”. Click “Insert into Post”. If desired, click on the image to further edit its size and position. Files should be image files e.g. jpg and PDF files will not work.
- Click the blue “Update page” button on the right hand side
- View your new page by clicking “National Centers for Systems Biology” at top of page
News stories (Posts) – adding/editing content
- Log into WordPress at http://www.systemscenters.org/wordpress/wp-login.php
- Click “Posts” on the left hand side menu
- To Edit a Post: Click the post you want to edit. Add or edit content including the Published date on the right hand side. Click the blue “Update Post” button on the right hand side
- To Add a new Post: Click “Add New” in the left hand side menu. Add content including the Published date on the right hand side. Click the blue “Post” button on the right hand side
- View your new post by clicking “National Centers for Systems Biology” at the top of the page and clicking “Read more stories…” in the News box.
